Prevention

Taking good care of your oral hygiene is crucial at any age, especially if you visit your dentist less often than at least once every year.

How often should I visit?

Since dental health affects your whole body and overall wellbeing, it’s only fair to give it the attention it deserves. At Imagen Clinic, we advise our patients to visit the practice at least twice yearly for active maintenance.

Active maintenance refers to a regular visit to the dentist to prevent serious problems developing. This is important as it allows us to identify and treat minor problems before they develop into bigger, more expensive problems. We must also stress the importance of maintaining a robust at-home oral hygiene program in conjunction with routine visits to our clinic; we believe the two go hand-in-hand.

It doesn’t take very long for plaque or tartar to build up, but through twice-yearly visits, we can significantly decrease the occurrence of tooth decay and other preventable dental ailments.

Dental cleans

With a `thorough clean. We scale back plaque build up, helping to prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease from forming. Although regular brushing and flossing at home will provide you with a good level of preventive dental care, you cannot remove the hardened tartar build up that a scheduled professional clean can.

Our team of professionals are here to help you set achievable goals with easy-to-follow instructions based on your specific dental needs.
